How packs open
Gold and starter packs
A win awards 3 Gold, a draw awards 2, and a loss awards 1. The first five completed games of a UTC day also award 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1 extra Gold. A finished practice game against the Computer awards 1 Gold and does not count toward that daily bonus.
A free account starts with 30 unopened Core Set packs and 1 unopened Golden Core Set pack. Buying, selling, and opening packs needs an account.
Core Set pack
10 Gold
Five cards. Each starts Common and may upgrade. Each card has a 1/20 chance to be Golden. A Golden card has a 1/100 chance to be Diamond instead.
Golden Core Set Pack
40 Gold
Five cards. Every card is Golden. Each card has a 1/500 chance to be upgraded to Diamond instead.
Diamond Core Set Pack
2000 Gold
Five cards. Every card is Diamond. Opening a Diamond Pack requires five unowned Diamond cards within that set. Unopened Diamond Core Set Packs can be sold back for their full Gold price.
Pack odds
Standing rules (every set): Rarity, Golden, and Diamond odds below apply to each card set the same way. The shop currently sells Core Set packs.
Rarity: Each pack has five cards. Each pack starts with 5 Common cards.
Each card has a 1/3 chance to be upgraded to Uncommon.
Each Uncommon has a 1/3 chance to be upgraded again to Rare.
Each Rare has a 1/4 chance to be upgraded again to Epic.
Each Epic has a 1/4 chance to be upgraded again to Mythic.
If the pack still has 5 Common cards, one of them is upgraded to Uncommon.
Regular Packs: Each card, regardless of rarity, has a 1/20 chance to be Golden. Golden cards have a 1/100 chance to be Diamond instead. Average 1 Golden card or better per 4 Regular Packs (costing 40 Gold). Average 1 Diamond card per 400 Regular Packs (costing 4000 Gold).
Golden Packs: Every card is Golden. Each card has a 1/500 chance to be upgraded to Diamond instead. Average 1 Diamond card per 100 Golden Packs (costing 4000 Gold).
Diamond Packs: Every card is Diamond. Diamond cards will never exceed the quantity playable in a deck. Opening a Diamond Pack requires five unowned Diamond cards within that set.
